All students of the college are being allotted a unique code and user identification number for accessing the internet through college wi-fi network, said associate professor and coordinator of the project Suresh Dhanerwal.

With the help of internet connectivity, students can access the digital libraries of other universities and research institutes across the globe, he said, adding that the students of Masters in Computer Application (MCA), Bachelors in Computer Science and Bachelors in Computer Application will benefit from the project most.

While students are able to read international and national journals online, the college administration said fool-proof arrangements will be in place for data security and privacy infringement through internet.

College principal Ashok Diwakar said that any misuse of the internet by students will invite strict penalty.

"Gurgaon is a fast emerging city. We always wanted to get for our students facilities at par with private institutions so that they are not left out of the employment opportunities. We are the first government college in the state to go wi-fi," the principal said.
