On a Gurgaon visit on Thursday to review the ongoing revision work, Haryana chief electoral officer (CEO) Srikant Walgad also said that forms for addition of name, deletion, correction and shifting within the same constituency are available online.

Eligible voters can apply online on www.ceoharyana.nic.in to the electoral registering officer (ERO) concerned. After receiving the application, the ERO would take a print out and send it to the booth level officer (BLO) who would visit the applicant to get signatures and copies of other relevant documents.

Since the electoral roll is available on the website, anyone can verify their details online. In case of any errors, the voter should apply for correction via Form 6. Information can also be availed by sending an SMS on 92151-56503. One has to type VOTERHRY . The applicants should also mention their mobile numbers on the form so that they can be reached regarding the status of their application. One can also dial 1950, a toll-free number, to avail information regarding revision of voters list.

In a bid to extend the reach of the voter registration initiative, Walgad also asked the concerned officers to rope in school children. The forms can be given to students who would take it back to their parents. In addition, the forms can be given to anganwadi workers, ASHA workers and other field functionaries for distribution to eligible persons.

The officer also suggested that drop boxes should be placed at the offices of the Haryana Urban Development Authority (Huda) estate officers and electricity bill collection centres. All these efforts will make the electoral rolls error-free, Walgad said.
