Gurgaon receives 4mm rainfall, more expected
The rain provided relief from the high temperatures dogging the region
Temperature in Gurgaon fell on Sunday after a 10-minute shower. The city recorded 4mm of rainfall, according to the India Meteorological Department (IMD). Light showers are now expected on Monday too.

The maximum temperature recorded on Sunday was 35.2 degrees Celsius, while the minimum was recorded at 19.9 degrees Celsius following the showers that hit around 4pm when dark clouds covered the sky completely and a cold breeze started blowing. However, thunderstorm and lighting soon followed.
“The city is expected to receive more rain on Monday. The sudden change is because of the movement of western disturbance winds towards Rajasthan,” said an IMD official.
The rainfall provided residents relief from the heat wave and high temperatures that have been dogging the area for two months.
This year, the heat wave has appeared much earlier than expected, confirmed IMD officials. They also predicted that it will only intensify in the next few weeks.
“The maximum temperature has dropped by five degrees in the last two days. However, the city will get harsh weather in the coming days. The slight rain has provided relief though,” said an IMD official.
