Anna Hazare on Tuesday issued a press statement in support of Dr Kanti Lal Sancheti, who was treating Hazare for acute bronchitis earlier in Pune. In a written statement Hazare refuted the allegations of ‘wrong treatment’ levelled against the medical team.

Anna said, “It is being said that the dosage of medicines given to me were high. I don’t think that I was given the medicines with any intent to harm. Perhaps my own body wasn’t able to respond well.”

Doctors attending to Hazare refused to comment on the issue.

Dr AK Debey, medical superintendent of the hospital said, “Hazare has now been shifted from the ICU, owing to improvement in his condition over the last three days. His progress has been satisfactory”.
