Hoax call leads to bomb scare at Emaar tower

There were many a hysterical moments and panicked faces in MGF-Emaar building on Friday afternoon after the tower was evacuated due to a bomb scare.

However, it turned out to be a false alarm and a case was registered against a hoax caller.

The building, which houses many corporate offices, is located opposite Bristol Hotel near Sikanderpur Metro station. The hoax call was received at
MGF’s head office in Delhi 12.20pm after which the Gurgaon police control room was intimated. The building management evacuated the premises within 10 minutes. A search operation was conducted and a dog squad was also pressed into service.

A police, a bomb defusal squad and many fire brigade teams conducted a thorough three-and-a-half hour search at the 10-floor building but found no explosives. A case has been registered at DLF City Phase-I police station against the unknown caller.
