
In-laws booked for assaulting woman
A 32-year-old woman has accused her husband’s cousin and aunt of assaulting her and threatening her for life.
Police said, the woman, Uma, married Manoj, 38, in 2014 and the couple lived with the family in Dundahera, Sector 21. Uma claimed the couple moved out in March this year. On Sunday, Uma alleged that her husband’s aunt, came to her place around 11am and started fighting with her. “She allegedly blamed Uma for Manoj moving out of the family home and started abusing her.
When Uma raised an alarm, her neighbours came and told the aunt to leave,” Shamsher Singh, assistant commissioner of police (crime), said. Uma added that around 4.30pm, the aunt’s son came and abused her and threatened her with dire consequences for “insulting his mother”. He allegedly assaulted her. An FIR was lodged under relevant IPC sections. No arrests have been made as yet.
