MCG begins verification of sanitation staff in city

The Municipal Corporation of Gurgaon (MCG) has started physical verification of sanitation workers engaged in sweeping and collection of garbage from the city.

The Municipal Corporation of Gurgaon (MCG) has started physical verification of sanitation workers engaged in sweeping and collection of garbage from the city.

On Wednesday and Thursday, MCG officials verified more than 700 sweepers engaged in Zone 1 and 2 under two separate private companies.

"We took photographs and collected an identity proof of each worker. We have also issued instructions that strict action will be taken against absence from duty," said Dr Aruna Sangwan, MCG sanitation in-charge.

According to the MCG, 329 persons (against a total strength of 702) came for physical verification in Zone 1 on Wednesday. They belong to Balaji Security Services Private Limited.

In Zone 2, as many as 429 employees (against a total strength of 524) turned up on Thursday for verification from AG Enviro Infrastructure Private Limited.
