The police on Monday acquired non-bailable arrest warrants against 12 absconding Maruti Suzuki workers union leaders who have been untraceable since July 18, when factory workers resorted to violence, killing one senior HR manager and injuring 100 others.

The police also succeeded in getting 6-day custody of union leader Yogesh Kumar for interrogation till July 27. He was one of the five workers arrested on Sunday.
Police were also awarded 2-day remands for other four workers. The police had produced all the five accused in the district court today.
Police said those union leaders who have played an important role in the violence are their main targets.
The 12 union member against whom warrants have been issued include Sandeep Dhillon, the chief patron, president Ram Meher, vice president Sohan Kumar, general secretary Sarabjeet Singh, cashier Suresh Kumar, advisor Ajmer Singh, joint secretary Pawan Kumar and four union members — Ram Vilas, Amarjeet , Pradeep and Dhanraj.
Gurgaon DCP Maheshwar Dayal said, "We will soon arrest the accused union leaders. Our teams are conducting raids at all possible hideouts.”
