Norms changed for allotment of EWS plots

To ensure housing for the underpriveleged, the Haryana Housing Board has introduced a new set of rules in allocation of plots meant for economically weaker sections (EWS).

To ensure housing for the underpriveleged, the Haryana Housing Board has introduced a new set of rules in allocation of plots meant for economically weaker sections (EWS).

As per the new norms, there will not by any draw of lots for allocation of plots under EWS category.

Also, the housing board will construct houses on these plots before giving them to the families belonging to below poverty line (BPL).

The new rule will help filter speculative buyers and benefit only the poor who deserve these plots, said RK Singh, senior town planner, Gurgaon. Around 11,000 three-storey houses worth Rs. 500 crore are being constructed across the state by the Haryana housing board.
