The NGO — Suparna ka Aangan — was being managed by Suparna Sethi. The shelter home houses 60 children, of which 16 are girls.

A city court has sent both the accused to Bhondsi Jail.

A team led by the National Commission for Protection of Child Rights (NCPCR) along-with officials of the city administration, including Gurgaon DC, raided the NGO’s premises in Sector 52.

“The rescued children will stay in the city and the administration will take care of them. They were living in unhygienic conditions,” said Vinod Tikku, a member of NCPCR.

The NCPCR team has asked the city administration to take the responsibility of children rescued from the NGO.

“We are recording the statements of the other girls in the NGO,” said Maheshwar Dayal, DCP (crime). The victims have been sent for a medical examination.
