Piped natural gas reaches sectors 14, 15 in Gurgaon
Residents of Sectors 14 and 15 received piped natural gas (PNG) supply on Wednesday. The gas was supplied by Haryana City Gas Distribution Ltd (HCGDL).
Residents of Sectors 14 and 15 received piped natural gas (PNG) supply on Wednesday. The gas was supplied by Haryana City Gas Distribution Ltd (HCGDL).

The fuel was supplied to Vijay Ratan Vihar apartments in Sector 15, Part 2. The housing complex has over 371 houses. Officials of the distribution company said they will soon cover the entire sector.
The company has laid down a pipeline network to connect another 5,000 households in Gurgaon.
“The supply of PNG started after a ceremonial inauguration at a house in Ratan Vihar. Every house will be connected with the PNG pipeline network in the next 20 days. PNG is an environment-friendly gas,” an official of the company said.
The residents, meanwhile, are very happy with the resumption of the PNG supply in the city.
They said PNG is better than liquefied petroleum gas as it is cheaper. PNG supply also checks issues like tampering with cooking gas cylinder.
“We prefer PNG over LPG. But the expansion plan was delayed for several years. PNG is not only environment friendly but also cheaper. As no middle man is involved in the process, it also eliminates chances of any delay,” said Manoj Tyagi, president, residents’ welfare association (RWA), Vijay Ratan Vihar, Sector 15, Part 2.
At present, PNG is supplied to residents of only Sector 57. The service was started in 2013.
The company has also commissioned a CNG station in Sector 86 and is planning to start five more in Sector 29, Sector 14, Sector 15 part 2, Sector 37 and Sector 89.
