Residents irked as builders fail to deliver on promised civic amenities

The most pertinent problem is the renewal of licences of builders who have failed to follow government orders on completion of developmental works.

“Following persistent appeals, the licences of 26 builders were revoked by the town and country planning department but they were renewed in 2012,” said Dharam Vir Yadav, president, Sheetal Residents’ Welfare Association and a resident of A-block.

Residents have been in constant tussle with developers for failing to issue occupation certificates to owners.

In a complaint to the town and country planning department, residents said that 80 plots have been issued to developer Today Homes and Infrastructure in violation of norms and the approved plan.

“The stretch from C to D-block has hanging electric wires which is dangerous. We collected R10 lakh for transformers to ensure power back-up and are forced to pay additional charges despite paying maintenance fee,” said Satpal Thakran, president, RWA, J-block.

The problem of sewerage disposal and broken roads has also irked residents.
