RWAs welcome sealing order

The RWAs in the city have welcomed the sealing order on guest houses and paying guest (PG) accommodations, saying the facilities create a “big nuisance in residential areas”.
“These guest houses and PGs create a pressure on the existing infrastructure. The Huda created sectors for residential purposes only and services such as power, water and sewage have been laid accordingly," said Dharam Sagar, president of Federation of Residents’ Welfare Associations of Urban Estate (FORWA).
“We welcome the order. However, it depends on Huda whether the officials execute the order at the earliest or not,” said Ratan Singh, chairman of JAFRA, an RWA association.
However, many feel the authorities are not serious about implementing the order. “The officials have always known about guest houses and PGs running illegally. There is nothing new about the order,” said a guest house owner on condition of anonymity.
The owners hinted they might move the court against the sealing order.
