The city police arrested three wanted men during a check on the Dwarka Expressway on Wednesday.

Police officials recovered illegal weapons, including two carbine firearms, five countrymade pistols, 17 cartridges and a stolen car from the men.
The trio are identified as Sonu Sharma (26) alias Babu, a resident of Silokhra village in Gurgaon, Bhagwan (26) alias Pinku, a resident of Bhiwani district and Harish (30) alias Pahari, a resident of Najafgarh in Delhi.
A police spokesperson said that the three, who have already been booked in as many as seven cases of attempt to murder, murder and Arms Act at different police stations in Gurgaon, were intercepted by a crime unit of Gurgaon police’s Palam Vihar police station near Bajkhera village when they were travelling in a Wagon R from Delhi cantonment on Tuesday night. When the cops signalled them to stop, the driver started speeding but was stopped a few metres away by a police cordon.
While questioning, the police came to know that the three are wanted criminals and had planned to kill Rewari and Gurgaon residents.
“They were hatching a plan to murder two people because of some personal rivalry. Firearms were purchased illegally from Bihar for this purpose,” said the police spokesperson.
The police said that the arrest of the trio would help in tracing other criminal gangs active in the area.
