Expectant parents are trying to grab the last opportunity of the century to have a baby on 12.12.12, with gynaecologists being inundated with requests that the child be delivered on this special day.
“Would-be parents are even ready to advance or postpone the delivery date in order to make their child’s birth special,” said Dr Archana Dhawan Bajaj, consultant gynaecologist at The Nurture Clinic at Naraina in west Delhi.
“Last year it was 11.11.11 but the 12.12.12 craze is much bigger because from 2013 such a combination of dates will not be available,” Dr Bajaj added.
In Mumbai, businessman Navnit Chudasama, who is launching a construction company, is set to open the bank account for his new business on Wednesday. “It’s a lucky day and I will try to arrange it at 12:12 pm to make it special,” he said.
Rohan Sharma (name changed on request), 15, will undergo a bariatric surgery on Wednesday to shed about 60kg from his 126kg frame.
“I was supposed to undergo the surgery last month but I waited because it is a day of a century and will be special since I will undergo a life-changing surgery,” he said.
