After a long day at work and running errands, at time one feels a bit low on energy, however, a nutrition bar or a slab of chocolate but we often fail to discern its effect on the skin. Between the sun, chlorine, sweat, and our fluctuating stress levels our skin undergoes a lot of dullness and loses its radiance. But hey, who says only a trip to the parlour fix can it? Beauty experts tell us some quick fixes which will instantly refresh and rejuvenate your skin.
Mix equal amounts of green gram powder and Bengal gram powder and half the quantity of fenugreek seeds. Prepare a paste by mixing all these in rosewater and apply this paste generously on the entire body. This method deeply cleanses and refreshes the body recommends beauty expert Blossom Kochhar.
Both red and white wine are ideal for refreshing the skin and adding a glow. Prepare a wine mask at home. Take honey and yogurt and add a few tablespoons of red wine. Apply this on the face and leave it on for 20 minutes. Rinse with plain water. Shahnaz Husain recommends this for tan removal.
Cucumber juice (or pulp) can be mixed with two teaspoons powdered milk and one egg white according to Husain. Put the ingredients in a blender, for a smooth paste. Apply on face and neck and rinse off with water after 20 minutes.
A cleansing herbal mask helps remove accumulated dirt and grime from the skin. Prepare your own by mixing one tablespoon of kaolin, yoghurt, one tablespoon pulp of avocado, grapes or peach and two drops of rose oil. Leave the pack on the skin for ten minutes advises Kochhar and rinse off with warm water and apply face oil.
Kochhar also recommends applying watermelon and a drop of jasmine applied to the face and neck to freshen it up. “Essential oils should be diluted with water or rose water,” adds Husain.
