Virginity

Even after getting 33% reservation, still women has to prove its virgnity. There is lot of emphasis on virginity before marriage.

The word virgin is used for a person, male or female, who has not had sexual intercourse till date. In women, who have not had sexual intercourse, a thin fold of skin medically known as the hymen, covers the vaginal opening. A seasoned gynaecologist after a thorough examination can diagnose the intact hymen.

In eastern cultures, there is a lot of emphasis on virginity before marriage. Many people erroneously equate slight
bleeding during the first night with virgin status. Many joke about men searching the bed sheet the next day to look out for any signs of bleeding.

This is a totally wrong association.The hymen may be ruptured even without sexual encounter as in cases of heavy exercises, use of tampons, masturbation etc. Scientifically, tear of hymen due to any of these factors, except a sexual encounter, is not equated with loss of virginity. Thus, technically cycling has no relation with virgin status.
