Atomic Blonde, the new action film starring Charlize Theron, opened in India to strong reviews on Friday. And filmmaker Anurag Kashyap jumped on the bandwagon by giving his top 5 reasons why you should watch the movie.

In a video featured on ticketing site, BookMyShow, Kashyap said he “loves the director’s earlier film, John Wick” and wanted to see what he’s done with his follow-up feature.

After watching the film, Anurag sat down in his famous movie library, which houses thousands of DVDs and BluRays, and gave his top 5 reasons everyone should watch the film.

1. Action

“I think this film has some really good action. Coming from the director of John Wick, someone who is primarily an action director, just to see him holding the reigns and to see him take charge of the scenes, that’s seriously something I’ve not seen in a long time.”

2. Performances

“You have some incredible actors - John Goodman, Eddie Marsan, Toby Jones. There are some really kicka** actors and performances.”

3. Music

“The film has some really cool tracks. There’s an entire action sequence set to Father Figure, the song that I remember I used to listen to in college. There’s also some amazing retro music, since the film is set in 1989.”

4. Production Design

“Using Berlin of that time, in the winters, a very neon-lit city, when the Berlin Wall was alive...”

5. One Take Scene

“Forget everything else, this film is worth watching for just that one single action scene which I think is the best shot I have seen in the entire year in any film.”
