Preity Zinta was at her patriotic best this Independence Day. Although the actress was away from India on August 15, she was basking in the attention as the Grand Marshal at New York City’s 30th India Day Parade. “You can take the girl out of India, but you can never take India out of the girl,” said a seemingly proud Preity, addressing the media at the event.
She led thousands of cheering fans through Manhattan, as Bollywood hits played in the background. Meanwhile, Akshay Kumar added star power to the I-Day celebrations in Toronto, together with thousands of Indo-Canadians who gathered at the Dundas Square for the annual parade.
