Star Wars: The Last Jedi trailer was released with a new poster.

The trailer for Star Wars: The Last Jedi debuted in dramatic fashion during Monday Night Football halftime. Storm troopers marched onto Chicago’s Soldier Field and pyrotechnics fired as the preview played onscreen.

But before more on The Last Jedi, here’s a warning from its director, Rian Johnson. Answering a fan on Twitter, he wrote, “I am legitimately torn. If you want to come in clean, absolutely avoid it (the trailer). But it’s gooooood.....” He later toned down his words and said the claims he had told fans not to watch the trailer nothing but “clickbaity jiggery pokery.”

So setting the jiggery pokery aside, here’s what we want you to remember about The Last Jedi trailer that Johnson said: ‘it’s gooooood’. This is the second The Last Jedi trailer to come out.

The clip featured all the latest characters from the Star Wars universe. The clip opens with voiceover from Adam Driver’s Kylo Ren saying, “When I found you, I saw raw, untamed power — and beyond that, something truly special.” Then Rey (Daisy Ridley) is shown wielding her light saber and questioning her destiny as Luke Skywalker (Mark Hamill) observes, “I’ve seen this raw strength only once before. It didn’t scare me enough then. It does now.” He’s presumably talking about Kylo Ren, who we see piloting his fighter, only to hesitate before blasting his mother’s Resistance ship. We also see Chewbacca and a new bird-like creature known as a Porg.

Star Wars: The Last Jedi, written and directed by Rian Johnson, stars Daisy Ridley, Mark Hamill, Adam Driver, Carrie Fisher, John Boyega, Kelly Marie Tran, Oscar Isaac, Laura Dern, Benicio del Toro, Gwendoline Christie, and Andy Serkis.

The Last Jedi is the latest installment in the Star Wars franchise since the Disney reboot that began with 2015’s The Force Awakens. It’s set to hit theaters December 15.
