Tom Cruise created a fresh new profile on Instagram on Thursday, only to reveal the title for the sixth Mission: Impossible movie and share the first look from the same. The highly anticipated film, titled Mission: Impossible- Fallout, will follow Mission: Impossible (1996), Mission: Impossible 2 (2000), Mission: Impossible III (2006), Mission: Impossible – Ghost Protocol (2011) and Mission: Impossible – Rogue Nation (2015).
In the picture, Cruise can be seen hanging for his life off a helicopter, in flight. The 55-year-old was previously seen hanging off an aeroplane in the fifth instalment of the franchise. “We’ve upped the ante for the sixth #MissionImpossible. I can’t wait for you guys to see more,” the actor captioned the photo.
Cruise recently hurt his ankle while leaping off buildings in London. After a short break, he was spotted back in action, trying to complete the scene.
Film writer/director, Christopher McQuarrie talked to Empire magazine about the film. “The title has multiple meanings in the film, from the literal to the figurative...There is the threat of nuclear terrorism hanging over the movie, which is the literal threat,” he said about the plot of the film.
The film is scheduled for a July 27 release and also stars newcomers Henry Cavill, Vanessa Kirby, and Angela Bassett. They will join franchise favourites Michelle Monaghan, Rebecca Ferguson, Simon Pegg, Ving Rhames, and Sean Harris.
