Actor Rajkummar Rao's upcoming film has been making massive buzz ever since even the news emerged years back: a biopic on India's star cricketer Sourav Ganguly. The film has finally gone on floors now, and got a title too.

Rajkummar took to Instagram on Wednesday evening, and shared that he has started shooting for it. “And it begins… The one and only #DADA” he wrote in the caption. The film is being produced by Luv Ranjan, and directed by Vikramaditya Motwane.

Dada- The Sourav Ganguly Story had made headlines recently as well- albeit for a different reason altogether. Rajkummar's changed appearance had left fans concerned in February, after he attended an event with weight put on and a different hairstyle. He had to clarify and assure everyone that nothing was wrong with his health then- he was prepping for his next film, the Ganguly biopic, for which he had to undergo a transformation. “For Nikam I had to gain around 9-10 kgs and I was eating 2 pizzas and lot of sweets and my fav Aloo Parathas, Biryani and to not use anything glam to look like the part. Hopefully when you will see the film which will be releasing soon you will be able to see all that hardwork in the film. And now it’s the transition phase and time to lose these extra kgs and get ready to slip into Ganguly mode. Our very own Dada,” read a portion of his post on Instagram.
