After Punjab sweep, Kejriwal's AAP sets eyes on expanding base. Check list
The Arvind Kejriwal-led Aam Aadmi Party inducted 15 former MLAs, ministers and social activists from Haryana into the fold
After a landslide win in Punjab Assembly elections, the Aam Aadmi Party has now turned its eyes on expanding its base beyond the national capital. On Monday, the Arvind Kejriwal-led party inducted 15 former MLAs, ministers and social activists from Haryana into the fold.
Delhi health minister Satyendar Jain was present during the induction ceremony in the national capital. “15 former MLAs, ministers & social activists from Haryana have joined Aam Aadmi Party in Delhi today. We will fight the Himachal Pradesh Assembly elections later this year. I am confident that we will form govt in Haryana,” Jain said.
The mega induction comes two days before the AAP is formally set to form government in Punjab under the chief ministership of Bhagwant Mann, who will take oath in freedom fighter Bhagat Singh's native village Khatkar Kalan.
The message is clear. The AAP has intensified its efforts to consolidate its base in Himachal Pradesh which goes to polls in December this year. The party has already declared it will contest all 68 assembly seats in the hill state.

"Himachal Pradesh adjoins Punjab and we will go full throttle in the hill state. The AAP is also seeking feedback from common people. The public in Himachal is critical about healthcare. Not much has been done in the field of education as well,” Jain had said on Saturday.
“People of the state are fed up with the privileged leaders in both the Congress and the BJP," the AAP leader had added.

The western state has been ruled by the BJP since 1995 with Modi serving as the chief minister for 13 years before he became the prime minister.
