Army man kills 2 colleagues in Pathankot, flees

An official who did not want to be named identified the accused as sepoy Lokesh, a resident of Chattisgarh. The Army man shot two of his colleagues around 2:30 am and fled the unit, said the official.

An official who did not want to be named identified the accused as sepoy Lokesh, a resident of Chattisgarh. He shot two of his colleagues around 2:30 am and fled the unit, said the official.

The deceased have been identified as Havildar Gauri Shankar of West Bengal and Havildar Suryakant of Maharashtra.

“The two soldiers were fast asleep when Lokesh opened fire on them with his service weapon and fled from the army unit. Police have launched a manhunt to nab the accused,” said the official mentioned above.

Police have registered an FIR. The Army has not issued any statement on the incident yet.
