Arunachal cop found dead inside car, police suspect suicide

The body of sub-inspector Hano Chatung with two bullet injuries on his head was found in the driver seat of the car.

A bullet-riddled body of a Arunachal Pradesh policeman was found inside his car on Wednesday at a place between Itanagar and Naharlagun on NH 415, police said.

The body of sub-inspector Hano Chatung with two bullet injuries on his head was found in the driver seat of the car, Itanagar police station in- charge N Sora said.

A 2010 batch officer, Chatung was on his way to Doimukh from Itanagar to report for duty at around 7.30am. His body was found at around 8am.

Police suspect it to a case of suicide as bullet marks were found on the right side of the head of the deceased and a hole caused by bullet was detected on the left side of the roof of the car.

A case has been registered at Itanagar police station and investigation is on to know the exact cause of his death, Sora said.
