Haryana not to hold tests for 8,000 posts; to advertise afresh
The posts for which the tests were to be held included 2,000 in skill development and industrial training department, 600 in health, 1,000 in irrigation, 500 in panchayat, 600 in police and 2,000 in the public health engineering departments. The dates for the exams were not declared.
The wait for a government job for more than five lakh applicants has got longer with the Haryana Staff Selection Commission (HSSC) cancelling written examinations for 8,194 posts of Class C and D (Class 3 and 4) category.
The reason for the cancellation of tests is said to be the revised criteria notified by the state government. Besides written exam, the selection will now be done on the basis of applicants’ experience and socio-economic background. The commission has decided to do away with the interview. The posts would be advertised afresh.

HSSC chairman Bharat Bhushan Bharti said the recruitment process will not be affected. “All candidates who have applied for these posts will be eligible for these tests. They will also get exemption in fee and age limit, as some of them may become overage when the tests are conducted, he said. Those who had not applied earlier can apply now, he added.
The HSSC, which has so far undertaken selections of about 24,000 candidates, was in news after Haryana chief minister’s flying squad arrested five of its employees on April 5 for taking money from candidates promising them that their marks would be increased in the interview.
