ISRO’s ‘Monster’ rocket sends ‘selfies’, Twitter is thrilled
“Everybody is crazy about selfies these days, why should ISRO rocket be left behind,” said one Twitter user.
The Indian Space Research Organisation (ISRO) released a video from the lift-off of its largest rocket yet, the GSLV Mark-III.

The release was quickly regarded as a “selfie” video by users on social media platform Twitter.
“Everybody is crazy about selfies these days, why should ISRO rocket be left behind,” said one Twitter user.

The GSLV Mark III is India’s most powerful home-produced rocket, another milestone for its indigenous space programme that one day hopes to put a human into orbit.
The rocket was launched from Sriharikota, Andhra Pradesh on Monday.
The 141-foot rocket has been compared to the weight of 200 elephants or five jumbo jets. Although it’s weight doesn’t match that of NASA’s 3,100 ton Saturn V rocket, experts say the rocket will reduce India’s reliance on foreign vehicles for launching heavy satellites into space.
From snaps of the red planet to aerial images of Earth, ISRO regularly shares onboard footage from space.
But it is the ‘selfie’ video that has got Twitter buzzing with excitement.
