Jharkhand launched its first air ambulance services on Friday. The ambulance services are set to operate from Ranchi as well as six other cities. This move of the government will boost medical transport facilities in the state by connecting it to other destinations in case of requirement. The ambulance services would be made available to all at competitive rates.

The Jharkhand CM's office tweeted about the development on Friday.
Director (operations) of civil aviation Captain SP Sinha had earlier said, “We are trying to connect air ambulances to all key destinations in the country like Delhi, Hyderabad, Chennai, Bengaluru, and Mumbai where most of the high-end medical facilities exist.” Once the operation begins more facilities will be added based on the requirements and the need."
“Arranging an air ambulance takes a lot of time which usually delays treatment in case of emergency. We plan to ensure that at least one air ambulance remains static in Ranchi to ferry people from any district to the destination within the shortest possible time,” he told The Times of India.
Families or people in need of air ambulance services can contact the Aviation Department toll-free numbers at 0651-4665515 and 91-8210594073.
