Police suspect the vandals to be members of Rajput Karni Sena as the multiplex Glitz Cinema in the mall is planning to screen the controversial movie Padmaavat.

Security staff of the mall said about 15-20 people carrying swords and sticks with their faces covered forcibly entered the mall and broke glasses of several shops on the ground floor. They also smashed the windowpanes of movie ticket booking counter. They allegedly fired three rounds in the air before leaving.

Kurukshetra superintendent of police (SP) Abhishek Garg said no one has been identified yet.

He said investigation is going on and the police were taking the help of CCTV cameras installed in the mall to identify the accused.  There was rush in the mall but terrified visitors left once the vandals entered.
