In 2019, Shrikant Shinde had won the seat with a margin of 344,343 votes. He was polled 559,723 votes with a vote share of 63.00 % and defeated Babaji Balaram Patil from NCP who got 215,380 votes (24.18 %).

According to Axis My India, NDA is likely to get 28 to 32 seats, whole the INDIA bloc is likely to get 16 to 20 seats. However, the ABP C-voter survey predicted a neck-and-neck contest between NDA and INDIA with 22 to 26 and 23 to 25 seats respectively.
