Man attacks woman in Tamil Nadu’s Tiruchirappalli with stone, held

The accused, Naveen, was booked for attempt to murder, police said and added the victim was in a relationship with him for two years

A 22-year-old man struck a woman he was in a relationship with a stone in the face until she fell unconscious before the passersby handed him over to police in Tamil Nadu’s Tiruchirappalli district. Videos of the assault went viral on the social media and provoked outrage.

The accused, Naveen, was booked for attempt to murder, police said on Monday. Police said the victim was in a relationship with Naveen for two years and decided to end it after her family opposed it.
