Militants have abducted a policeman from his home in Tral area of Pulwama district in Jammu and Kashmir, police said on Saturday.

Special police officer (SPO) Mudasir Ahmad Lone was abducted by the militants from his home at Chainattar village Friday night, a police official said.

“A manhunt is on to trace the SPO. He was working as a cook in Awantipora police lines,” a police officer said.

Earlier on July 21, the body of police constable Mohammad Salim Shah was found with multiple bullet injuries in Qaimoh village of south Kashmir’s Kulgam district, a day after he was abducted by unidentified gunmen from his house.

Shah was the 25th policeman killed by militants in J&K this year.
