Muzaffarnagar: Man arrested for raping teen, circulating video

On the basis of the FIR lodged by the victim’s family, the police arrested the accused, identified only as Naeem, a close relative of the girl, after registering a case under Sections 377 and 376 of the Indian Penal Code and 66A of the IT Act.

On September 11, the accused called the girl to a jungle in the village on some pretext and outraged her modesty, police sources said. He also allegedly recorded an MMS and threatened to share it on social media if she revealed the incident to her family members.

However, a few days after the incident, the accused circulated the MMS among a few of his friends in the village and the matter came to the knowledge of the girl’s family, which is when an FIR was lodged at the New Mandi police station.

Inspector R Tyagi of New Mandi police station said Naeem was arrested on the basis of the complaint.
