National mourning for Parrikar on Monday, state funeral at 4:30 pm

Manohar Parikar who died in Panaji Sunday evening, will be accorded a state funeral . The National Flag will fly at half-mast in New Delhi and capitals of States and Union Territories.

The Centre has announced national mourning on Monday following demise of Goa Chief Minister Manohar Parrikar.

Parikar who died in Panaji Sunday evening, will be accorded a state funeral .The National Flag will fly at half-mast in New Delhi and capitals of States and Union Territories.

The Goa government has declared a one-day holiday on Monday and a seven-day mourning period.

Between 9:30 am to 10:30 am, Manohar Parrikar’s mortal remains will be kept at the BJP head office, Panjim after which it will be taken to Kala Academy in the city.

Between 11 am to 4 the public will pay their final respects to the former chief minister before the funeral procession starts for SAG grounds, Campalat.

The funeral is scheduled to take place at 4:30 pm .

The chief minister was suffering from advanced pancreatic cancer and had been in and out of hospitals in Goa, Mumbai, New York and New Delhi over the past year.
