“No one can be against Bharat Jodo Yatra. There is nothing wrong in the yatra and I appreciate it,” Champat Rai, general secretary of Shri Ram Janmabhoomi Teerth Kshetra Trust , told reporters in Ayodhya on Tuesday.

“I am an RSS (Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh) worker and the RSS has never condemned Bharat Jodo Yatra,” he added.

Govind Dev Giri, the treasurer of the Trust, which is overseeing construction of the grand Ram Temple in Ayodhya, also welcomed the former Congress president’s footmarch. “I pray to lord Ram to bless him (Rahul Gandhi),” Giri said, as he appealed everyone to do “yatra for the country”.

On Monday, the head priest of the Ram Janmabhoomi temple in Ayodhya, Acharya Satyendra Das, also conveyed his blessings to the Wayanad MP.

“Whatever work you are doing for the country is for the benefit of all. My blessings are with you,” Das (82) wrote in the letter that he handed over to Youth Congress leader Gaurav Tewari. “Lord Ram’s blessings be with you (Rahul Gandhi).”

The Bharat Jodo Yatra entered Uttar Pradesh from New Delhi through the Loni border in Ghaziabad on Tuesday.
