Sanjay Kothari appointed secretary to President

Kothari has been appointed for an initial period of two years.

The appointment committee of the cabinet has appointed 1978-batch IAS officer of Haryana cadre, Sanjay Kothari, as the secretary to the President of India.

According to an official communique of Rajiv Kumar, secretary of the appointments committee of the cabinet, the appointment was approved on July 21. At present, Kothari is chairman of the public enterprises selection board (PESB). He has been appointed for an initial period of two years.

Meanwhile, Bharat Lal, another officer of the 1988 Gujarat cadre, was appointed as joint secretary to the President.
