Suspected militants snatch three rifles from police post in Srinagar

Suspected militants on Thursday night snatched three rifles from police personnel at a guard post in Dalgate area of Srinagar, officials said.

The ultras targeted a police post in the tourist hub of Dalgate area and escaped with three service rifles of the cops, a police official said.

Security forces have cordoned off the area to track down the attackers, the official said, adding further details of the incident were awaited.

This is second incident of rifle snatching in the city since Thursday. Suspected militants escaped with a rifle of a policeman in Hazratbal area outside the Kashmir University.
