Techie due to get married tomorrow reported missing
A 29-year-old software engineer who works in an IT firm in the city, was reported missing on Saturday by his roommate at Sector 17/18 police station. The police said the victim’s marriage is scheduled for April 23 and he left from his rented accommodation in Sukhrali village in Sector 17 on Friday morning.
According to the victim’s roommate Abhishek Kumar, who filed the police complaint, the victim, Ravi Singh, left around 7.45am, saying he was going to his house in Jhansi, but later went missing.
“He did not reach his house or return to the city. He has not reported to his office. His whereabouts are not known,” the complainant said.
The police said Singh was working in a firm in Signature Tower in Sector 15.
Vivek Kundu, station house officer (SHO), Sector 17/18 police station, said the police were trying to trace him.
A case was registered under section 346 (wrongful confinement in secret) of the Indian Penal Code.
In a separate incident, a 19-year-old woman went missing from a city-based non-governmental organisation (NGO) on Friday morning. The police said the woman was mentally ill and was brought to the NGO on April 19 by a police officer from Sector 56 police station.
Rambir Singh, assistant sub inspector, DLF Phase 1 police station, said the woman saw the door open during the wee hours and left. “We have registered a case and are trying to trace her,” Singh said.
A case was registered under Section 346 of the IPC at DLF Phase 1 police station, the police said.
