The party claimed that Naidu’s response to its allegations against him on the issue of probity had “raised more questions”. “Caesar’s wife must be above suspicion. People of India demand answers. It is time PM, BJP chief and Naidu break silence and answer questions instead of hiding behind platitudes,” said Congress chief spokesperson Randeep Singh Surjewala.

Naidu’s spokesperson dismissed the charges. “Congress party again sought to rehash the same accusations with the sole intention of continuing with their mudslinging campaign against Naidu. The issues raised today have nothing to do with Naidu as they include questioning the policies of concerned state governments and Swarna Bharat Trust. It is for the concerned to respond if they so choose,” he said.
