Watch: Vibrant Republic Day rehearsals at Kartavya Path in Delhi

Egyptian President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi will be the chief guest at the annual parade this year. Sisi is set to be the first Egyptian and the fifth West Asian leader to witness the country's mega event.

Dress rehearsals for the Republilc Day were held in Delhi at the Kartavya Path on Monday. Other programmes, including a tribal dance, were held at the Jawaharlal Nehru Stadium. The rehearsals kicked off at 10:30am. In the video shared by news agency ANI, a mechanised infantry squad led the ‘Nag’ missile system. The clip also showed 'Rudra' formation by Indian Army helicopters. It consisted of two ’Dhruv' and two ‘Rudra’ helicopters. The one-minute video can be seen ending with a shot of the ‘Akash’ missile system.

A total of 23 tableaux, including 17 from states and UTs, and six from ministries and departments will roll down the Kartavya Path, the Ministry of Defence informed on Sunday.
