Unable to bear the death of his bosom friend in a road accident, a youth committed suicide by jumping in front a running train in Hyderabad on Wednesday morning.

According to the police, K Ramesh, 28, an employee of a private nursing home, was travelling on a motorbike with his friend G Harikrishna, 27, a software engineer, when a truck rammed them from behind at Moosapet near Sanathnagar railway station after midnight. While Harikrishna died on the spot, Ramesh sustained minor injuries.
The trauma of seeing his friend in a pool of blood reportedly sent Ramesh into a state of shock. He walked over to the adjacent railway tracks and jumped in front of the running train even before passers-by could stop him.
The police reached the spot a couple of hours later and sent both the bodies to the Gandhi hospital, Secunderabad, for autopsy.
Both Ramesh and Harikrishna belonged to Vepakampalli village of Karampudi block in Guntur district, and had been sharing a room at Kukatpally for some time. Harikrishna had returned from Malaysia only recently.
The accident took place when the two were returning from the house of a third friend at Ameerpet, the police said.
The Kukatpally police have arrested the truck driver for causing the accident.
