10 injured in poll-related clash

At least ten people, including three women, were injured in a clash between two groups at Kaserwa village in the district, police said today

A verbal duel broke out on Tuesday when a youth tried to remove a banner of a gram pradhan candidate after the first phase of panchayat polls here. The argument later turned violent in which ten persons were injured, they said, adding that the victims have been shifted to a hospital.

In yet another incident of election-related violence, a youth was found murdered at Kairana police station area in the district.

Satish (25) was found dead on Tuesday. His uncle has lodged a complaint against five persons, including Arvind, a candidate who contested in the panchayat polls.

The body has been sent for postmortem, police said , adding that they are probing into the incident.
