Over 100 Congress workers have been arrested while staging a rally to protest Orissa chief minister Naveen Patnaik's visit to this district on Saturdy, police said.

Over 100 Congress workers were arrested while staging a rally to protest Orissa chief minister Naveen Patnaik's visit to this district on Saturdy, police said.

During his hour-long visit to the district, the chief minister inaugurated the saline embankment division office at Aul, 45 km from here, they said.

The Congressmen including district wing chief Debendra Sharma were arrested as they were marching towards the public meeting where Patnaik addressed a gathering, they said.

However, they were later released on personal release bond, police added.
