At least 12 non-tribals were injured in a communal flare-up in Aizawl triggered by the murder of a Mizo girl by two suspected non-tribals.

Aizawl civil hospital sources told PTI that 12 non-tribals were injured after being attacked in different parts of the city by residents of Republic Veng, the locality to which the victim belonged.
The boys, wearing the traditional 'puan dum' or black shawls, signifying mourning, went on the rampage after carrying the girl's body which was found this morning from the civil hospital here to her residence after autopsy, police said.
Some non-tribal shops were attacked in Barabazar, Zarkawt Chanmari and Treasury squre areas, they said.
These downed shutters and non-tribals who ventured out were attacked by mobs inspite of intensified patrols by the police.
Altogether ten arrests were made.
The 20-year-old girl, Lalremsiami, working at a garment shop at Zarkawt area, went missing on Thursday after she was sent by the shop owner to deposit Rs 4.14 lakh in the nearby Vijaya Bank.
Her body with the throat slit was recovered from the godown of a shop this morning, the police said.
Two coolies working in the shop, suspected to be the killers, were absconding from Thursday, the police said.
