12-year-old kidnapped; Rs 20 lakh ransom demanded

The 12-year-old son of a businessman from Wadivhare village in Nashik was kidnapped by a group of unidentified people who are demanding a ransom amount of Rs 20 lakh.

Akash, son of businessman Shankar Sapkale was kidnapped on Thursday evening when he was playing near his house, police said.Sapkale later received a telephone call from kidnappers stating that his son was in their possession, police said adding they were demanding a ransom of Rs 20 lakh.

A search had been launched to look for the boy, police said adding further investigations were on.
