13 cases of Encephalitis reported in Gorakhpur

With the onset of rains in UP 11 new Encephalitis cases have been registered at Gorakhpur, taking toll to 13.

At least 11 new encephalitis patients were admitted to a hospital here with the viral disease taking a toll of 13 in Eastern Uttar Pradesh since April one signalling it is back with the onset of rains.

Eleven patients were admitted to the BRD medical College Hospital today, hospital sources said adding a total of 98 people, including 24 children, are admitted to the hospital.

They said 13 people have died of the mosquito-born disease since April 1.
