14 killed after consuming hooch in Assam

At least 14 people, including two women, were killed and 13 others seriously ill allegedly after consuming hooch in upper Assam’s Lakhimpur district, official sources said on Sunday.

At least 14 people, including two women, were killed and 13 others seriously ill allegedly after consuming hooch in upper Assam’s Lakhimpur district, official sources said on Sunday.

The tragedy took place in Saboti area, about 11 km from Lakhimpur (Assam) on Saturday night, they said.

All of them were rushed to different hospitals in the district, while six of them had been admitted in Assam Medical College in the neighbouring Dibrugarh district, the official sources added.
