The polling, that was dull in the early hours, picked up later, official sources said.

However, there was delay in voting process due to failure of EVMs at some polling booths.

In the state capital, 12 per cent votes were registered.

Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu accompanied by his wife Bhuvaneshwari exercised their franchise at a polling booth in Khairatabad assembly constituency here.

Former TDP leader K Yerran Naidu, who survived a naxal attack on Sunday, went in an ambulance to his native place in Nimmada village to cast his vote.
