The apartment belonged to Omprakash Gupta, who is currently general manager of Brihanmumbai Electric Supply and Transport Undertaking (BEST). He had rented it out to starlet Misti Mukherjee’s father and brother.
Around 130 IAS and IPS officers have flats in the high-rise.
“Misti’s father, Chandrakant, and her brother, Samrat, have been arrested. The accused would make copies of the pornographic material. We are probing if they were also involved in their sale. The probe is underway,” said Naseer Pathan, senior inspector of Oshiwara police station.
During the raid, the police found the heap of CDs piled up in the balcony of the flat. A laptop was also seized.
“Whatever has happened is very unfortunate and they (the CDs) will be removed immediately,” said AS Tamboli, BEST spokesperson who was speaking on behalf of Gupta.
Despite repeated attempts and SMSes, Misti could not be contacted.
