2 killed in aircraft crash near Ujjain

A trainer aircraft crashed today after hitting a high tension electricity line, killing the pilot and a woman co-pilot at a place about 15km from Ujjain, police said.

A trainer aircraft crashed today after hitting a high tension electricity line, killing the pilot and a woman co-pilot at a place about 15km from Ujjain, police said.

The mishap took place after the aircraft took off from Datana-Matana airstrip, touched the high tension power line and fell into a dry river bed at Kalayanpura village, they said.

The two-seater aircraft belonged to Yash Academy.

The pilot and a woman co-pilot were killed in the crash under Narwar police station area, Additional Superintendent of Police Dharmendra Choudhary said.
